A Drink Under the Moon

A bottle of wine in the flowers,
I drank alone to pass the lonely hours.
Raising my glass I sent an invitation by whisper,
So the moon, the shadow and I counted as three altogether.
But the moon doesn't understand drinking's wonder,
The shadow only follows my finger.
Atlas! I'll temporarily use their comfort,
For you should enjoy the party before it's all over.
I sang and the moon above lingered,
I danced and my shadow broke, all shattered.
Wide awake we entertained each other,
Once drunk we were only lonely figures.
Oh! Only ruthless companies last forever,
And next time we gather,
We'll be between the clouds and waters.
花间一壶酒，独酌无相亲。
举杯邀明月，对影成三人。
月既不解饮，影徒随我身。
暂伴月将影，行乐须及春。
我歌月徘徊，我舞影零乱。
醒时同交欢，醉后各分散。
永结无情游，相期邈云汉。
